Day 1 Miri
Meet the guide at the airport. Then Miri
city tour to Sarawak Shell Berhad,
pottery shop, The Grand Old Lady (Oil
Well), Miri City Fan, Tamu Muhibbah
and Taman Selera.
Day
2 Miri – Mulu
(Breakfast, Dinner provided)
After breakfast, transfer to Mulu National
Park by flight. On arrival, register
at Park HQ and check in Royal Mulu Resort/
Park chalet. Proceed to Deer and Lang
Caves to tour limestone formations. At
end of tour wait at Deer Cave entrance
gallery to watch exodus of bats from
Deer Cave, witness the wondrous and spectacular
sight of 3 - 5 million bats flying out
in formation on their nightly forage
for food. After dinner, rest of evening
is at own leisure. If you want to know
more about the local community, stay
around at the local restaurant for a
chit chat. Transfer back to Resort/chalet.
Experience: Unique plant life and lush
tropical forest, jungle trekking, spectacular
limestone formations, exodus of millions
of bats, and night jungle walk (option).
Day
3 Mulu – Camp
5 (Breakfast, Pack Lunch, Dinner provided)
Take a longboat ride up the Melinau River.
On the way visit the semi-nomadic Penan
settlement that produces handicrafts
from jungle produce for sale. Proceed
to Wind Cave where there are more beautiful
rock formations. Continue the boat ride
to Clearwater Cave, Southeast Asia's
longest cave system. We proceed again
by longboat for an hour followed by an
8.6 km walk to Camp 5 for overnight.
Experience – Longboat ride, more
unique limestone formations, legendary
Batu Bungan cliff, rare plant life (orchid),
meet the Penan (some are still hunter-gatherer),
jungle trekking, and handicraft.
Day 4 Camp 5 – Pinnacles – Camp
5 (Breakfast,
Pack Lunch, Dinner provided)
Begin a 4 - 5 hour ascent of Gunung Api to view the Pinnacles from the peak.
Sharp limestones which take millions of years to form stand 50 m high in clusters,
creating an awesome landscape. Lunch at the peak. We descend to Camp 5 for
overnight
Day
5 Camp 5 – Mulu – Miri (Breakfast,
Pack lunch provided)
Trek back to Kuala Litut and ownward
by longboat down to Mulu Airport for
return flight to Miri for transit. Bye
bye!
